Youssry Henien, the editor and publisher of the GCC Polo Club Directory, is an avid horse enthusiast, and has spent many years following equestrian sports around the globe. Youssry was involved in horse racing for many years, and through the many connections he made over the years, he was introduced to the sport of Polo.

The UAE capital has been an active city when it comes to polo with the hosting of high-profile events at the Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club on the border between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

But come November, fans of the ‘sport of kings,’ can get a slice of the action in the heart of the capital. Appropriately titled ‘Coutts Polo at the Palace,’ the two-day event on November 23 and 24, will be played against the iconic and spectacular backdrop of the Emirates Palace. Four teams — Coutts Abu Dhabi, Team Buenos Aires, Maserati Milan and Team London — will battle it out for the Coutts Polo Cup on a specially built polo pitch on the lawns of the Emirates Palace.
